The 16th Annual Starving Artist Faire runs three days only, December 2nd to 4th 2011. Thanks to Fr. Ken Sampson and St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church for hosting this charming holiday event this 16th annual holiday tradition will be held for the first time at the Star of the Sea Auditorium 1411 Grand Street (just up from Downtown Astoria watch for signs).

This holiday favorite has been supporting local artist and musicians since 1996. It first began at the Eagles Hall like our annual summer production SHANGHAIED IN ASTORIA. And like “Shanghaied” grew to be a favorite family tradition for the Winter Holidays!

Featuring over fifty home grown artists, this fine Arts and Crafts Faire has a reputation for quality one of a kind gifts to share or just for you! At the ASOC STARVING ARTIST FAIRE you will find hand made gifts ranging from home decorations, soap, wreaths, collage art, jewelry, candles, holiday ware, clothing, hats, glass art, pottery and much, much more! BUT! Shop early, you only have three chances to pick up a few quality gifts to give to your loved ones during this special time of the year!

In addition to craftsmen displaying their wares, local mistrals come from far and wide to create a charming warm holiday feel and sound through out the faire all decorated in a festive style. Santa will be there too! The ASOC Production Committee’s Miss Karin’s Kitchen will be open to provide goodies, coffee, soda and more to keep you charged up as you view and shop at one of Clatsop County’s finest Arts and Craft shows.

All proceeds from the small $2.00 suggested donation at the door go toward helping the Astor Street Opry Company keep up its good work of Community Theater. In addition we ask that you donate a can of food for our Clatsop County Food Bank and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
