ORIGINAL SCRIPT AND MONOLOG COMPETITION FOR 2012
DEADLINE NOVEMBER 1, 2011

The Astor Street Opry Company is putting out the call for original one Acts and monologs for the 2012 One Acts and Script Competition. $100 will be awarded to the best two One Acts and $50 for the best Monolog. The deadline for submission is November 1st 2011. The winning pieces will be performed in the 2012 NEW WORKS FESTIVAL in February 2012.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All One Acts and monologues must be well written, perceptive and entertaining. Comedy, drama or anything in between will be considered. The plot, character development and motivation need to be complete. Technical requirements and appropriateness will be judged. All work must be suitable for family audiences. Winners will be judged by a selected panel of theatrical experts and will be announce by December 1, 2011. The winning scripts and monologues will be produced by ASOC in February 2012 for their 3rd Annual NEW WORKS FESTIVAL.

Competition Rules
• One Act plays should be 25 to 45 minutes in length.
• Monologues are to be 5 minutes long.
• Submission dates are NOW through NOVEMBER 1ST 2011 (postmarked).
• Winners will be announced December 1, 2011

Please include a TITLE PAGE for each script that states names of all authors along with addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and email addresses. Subsequent pages should include only manuscript title and page number.

By entering this contest you are stating that the script or monologue is your own work. No adaptation of the work of other authors, stage plays, monologues, short stories or screen plays will be accepted. Send three copies of each piece. No originals, please.

The author retains all other rights to his/her work. If selected for production a new rights agreement will be signed by the author and the ASOC. ASOC will have the right to produce winning scripts and monologs. However, ASOC makes no commitment to produce any script.

Please include an entry fee of $15.00 per script and $5.00 per monologue or $15.00 for four. Checks can be made out to ASOC. (No scripts will be returned unless return envelope with postage is included.)
